This past summer I got to work on Nickelodeon’s summer campaign. Our concept was to blend three separate animation techniques to create a unique and interesting look. Each bumper was shot practically, using stop motion replacement animation and 3D printed models, and then traditionally animated faces and effects were added in compositing. I got to handle a large portion of the modeling and shot planning in Maya before animating during the three day stop-motion shoot. This was my first stop motion shoot at Nickelodeon and I had a ton of fun. It was interesting going through the 3D printing process as well. I learned a lot.
